We all know how rumours spread, however.

Either way, some West Ham fans are absolutely petrified at the prospect of the rumoured Declan Rice injury…

There could be a very simple explanation.

There were a few spoof tweets flying about on Twitter suggesting that Hammers ace Rice has been ruled out of the season with a back injury because he carried England for two games!

West Ham will not be able to cope without Declan Rice. We certainly won’t be able to maintain our push for the top six.

David Moyes has made it very clear that the 22-year-old is the most important player at the London Stadium. We desperately need him to be fit for the run-in.

Rice makes West Ham tick. And if he is out for the season, it could be curtains for our hopes of qualifying for Europe.

Let’s keep everything crossed that the rumours are nothing more than that – rumours.
