News of a huge Angelo Ogbonna blow for West Ham United has emerged this morning via Claret and Hugh.

The club insiders suggested yesterday that the 33-year-old Italian could be back involved in first-team action before the end of the season.

At the time, it was a massive boost for the Hammers considering the fact that Kurt Zouma and Issa Diop are both expected to be out injured for the remainder of the season.

Oggy has been out of action since November with an ACL injury.

It appears as though he won’t be returning to action any time soon…

Huge Ogbonna blow

Claret and Hugh reckon that after regular updates on the Italian, the medical department has now ruled out hopes that he will be back for the last couple of games.

How’s that for a kick in the teeth for Ogbonna, David Moyes and the fans.

The experienced centre-back has played a vital role for West Ham since Moyes returned to the London Stadium back in December 2019.

Having him unavailable for the season-run in will obviously be a big blow for us.

Craig Dawson is currently the only fit senior centre-back that David Moyes has at his disposal.

The Ogbonna injury was obviously a very serious one. All we can hope for is that he returns to action as soon as possible and rediscovers the form that he showed before he ruptured his ACL.

And if he doesn’t return before the end of the season, we need to keep our fingers crossed that Kurt Zouma makes a miraculous recovery.
