Social media post contains the Kurt Zouma photo no West Ham fan wanted to see on the eve of our huge Europa League clash in Lyon.
West Ham face their biggest single match for decades when they take on Lyon in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final in just over 48 hours.
The tie is delicately poised at 1-1 following the controversial first leg at the London Stadium last week where West Ham bravely battled with 10 men for the entire second half following Aaron Cresswell’s sending off.
Cresswell is suspended for the second leg as a result. And both West Ham and hosts Lyon have injury issues ahead of the match.
Hammers boss David Moyes issued a worrying but hopeful injury update on West Ham defender Zouma after he came off during the 2-0 defeat at Brentford on Sunday.
Zouma was hurt after a challenge in the first half of the London derby.
The Frenchman played on but was seen hobbling before eventually receiving treatment from the West Ham physios.
But the Hammers medical team decided he had to come off and West Ham boss Moyes wore a pained expression when he checked on Zouma as he left the field.
The injury to arguably West Ham’s key defender comes with a place in the Europa League semi-finals at stake.
Speaking after the game, Moyes told Football.London he was not sure how bad the injury was but that it didn’t seem ‘too bad’.
“Kurt twisted his ankle,” Moyes said in his post match press conference (Football.London).
“We don’t know how bad it is.
“Coming off is not a good sign but not too bad.”
West Ham fans have been hoping for some good news since.

But unfortunately the Kurt Zouma photo no West Ham fan wanted to see on eve of the huge Lyon Europa League clash has emerged on social media.
In a post from popular Hammers account West Ham Latest, Zouma is pictured wearing a protective boot while posing for a photo with a fan.
The post was made this evening but it is not clear whether the picture has been taken today.
Given Zouma’s previous injury was relating to a hamstring tendon it would appear that the image is more than likely this week.
It is a Hammer blow for West Ham boss Moyes.
And West Ham fans now face the prospect of Issa Diop – who looked extremely, and somewhat understandably, rusty coming on at Brentford – deputising for Zouma in Lyon.
