Jarrod Bowen injury news broke earlier this afternoon and it could be a real hammer blow for West Ham United.

Claret and Hugh have claimed that the 25-year-old could be out injured for a further fortnight meaning that he will miss the Hammers’ huge clashes with Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday and Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.

Bowen has been a key player for West Ham this season. He’s bagged 12 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for the Hammers.

We have really missed him in our last couple of games against Sevilla and Aston Villa respectively.

It could be argued that our next two games against Sevilla and Tottenham are our most important games of the season so far. The results of those matches could end up defining our 2021/22 campaign.

And it seems as though we have been dealt a truly massive blow ahead of those two matchups…

Bowen injury news an absolute shocker for West Ham

Claret and Hugh claims that the injury suffered by the 25-year-old eight days ago away at Liverpool hasn’t significantly healed.

And as a result, he could be out of action for another two weeks yet.

The fact that the original prognosis was actually quite positive makes the news even harder to take.

The official club website explained last Sunday evening how the injury sustained by Bowen was not a serious one and that he had not suffered any significant damage to his foot.

Claret and Hugh then suggested that the 25-year-old would not return to action until the second-leg against Sevilla next week, however.

That was bad enough to take but now the prospect of having Bowen unavailable for the Sevilla AND Tottenham games is a really daunting one.

Especially having lost Michail Antonio to injury this afternoon during our win against Aston Villa.

If Bowen and Antonio are missing for our next two games, today’s hero Andriy Yarmolenko may be given the nod up front. Perhaps the players will adopt a siege mentality and the rough luck we’ve had with injuries could end up inspiring us as a team.

Even so, the Jarrod Bowen injury news today could not have come at a worse time for West Ham.
