Insider makes claim about new Kurt Zouma injury scan as Hammers fans await West Ham update following the worrying scenes at the London Stadium.

Speculation has been swirling over the injury suffered by Zouma in the 3-2 win over Chelsea.

When the initial buzz of West Ham’s memorable victory subsided, there was a familiar feeling of dread as claims quickly filled the internet over the extent of the injury picked up by star defender Zouma.

The £29 million summer signing from Chelsea has been imperious since his move from west to east London.

Zouma has been an instant hit with West Ham fans.

And he has been a beacon of hope at the back given the season-ending injury suffered by Angelo Ogbonna – with whom he had quickly forged a formidable partnership.

Insider makes claim about new Kurt Zouma injury scan as fans await West Ham update

West Ham lost Ogbonna in the wake of a famous 3-2 win over title challengers Liverpool.

Social media has been filled with rumours over Zouma.

But as pointed out by Hammers News yesterday, everything rests on the results of the scan on the centre-back’s injury.

Now well-informed West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh have claimed that a new scan was needed on the injury after the initial once proved ‘inconclusive’.

As a result the club are unlikely to know the outcome until today.

“The big fella was scanned with Ben Johnson yesterday (Sunday) but an inconclusive result means he will be having another later today (Monday),” Claret and Hugh state.

“Although there has been widespread speculation on social media that he could be out for some time, it is far too early to make dramatic and panicky judgements…

“Obviously there are fears inside the club given the injury to Angelo Ogbonna but insiders continue to hope for the best.”

Claret and Hugh are spot on here because if the club’s medical professionals do not yet know the extent of the injury then how would anyone else?

We can only live in hope that we get some positive news for a change when it comes to injuries.

But whatever happens, Moyes will undoubtedly now be focusing just as much on bringing in a defender as he is on a forward player when the window opens in a few weeks.
