And seven of them played in the game against FCSB, six of them starting before the introduction of the record arrival – Lucas Paqueta.
The missing piece of David Moyes’ jigsaw is ironically his first signing of the summer, Nayef Aguerd.
The £30m defender was ruled out for three months during pre-season.
Moyes delivered a positive update on the Moroccan’s return from an ankle operation ahead of the game.

Eagle-eyed West Ham fans spotted Aguerd behind the Hammers bench with his hood up and all smiles.
The defender was spotted on the BT Sport coverage of the game and supporters loved that the injured star is showing such togetherness with his new teammates by supporting them on a cold and wet night in east London.
Aguerd could quite easily and understandably have been at home in the warm.
But he chose to be there to show his support for Moyes and the boys and we absolutely love to see it.
