The news is somewhat of a blow considering the fact that we were told before the international break that the Italian could be back in time to face Leicester City on Sunday (Claret and Hugh).
The game against the Foxes is an absolutely huge one for the Hammers.
Win and the top three will be within our reach! Lose, however, and it will be a real struggle to finish inside the top four this season.
The West Ham fans are praying that Angelo Ogbonna will be back in time to face Leicester.
The 32-year-old has been out injured since February 10th. The Hammers have coped well without the Italy international.
Having said that, Craig Dawson and Issa Diop have looked somewhat shaky over the past few games. The sooner we get Ogbonna back fit and available for selection the better.
ExWHUemployee drops worrying Angelo Ogbonna update
It seems as though we may have to wait a little longer yet before seeing the Italian back in action.
Ex took to Twitter and suggested that Oggy is still not due to return to full training for another week:
Let’s hope that if Ogbonna does return to training next week he is ready to play immediately after that because we desperately need him back.
If West Ham are to finish inside the top four this season, Ogbonna returning could be crucial.
If the 32-year-old isn’t fit for the Leicester game, let’s just keep our fingers crossed that he is ready to play against Newcastle.
