A big claim has been made about West Ham’s decision on a plan of action for striker Danny Ings and the next 24 hours are crucial.
In many ways it was painfully typical of West Ham’s rotten luck with new signings and injuries that Ings picked up a knee problem less than 24 hours after being unveiled by the Hammers.
Many were not overly surprised given the £15m signing’s history of injuries.
But Ings has had a relatively clean bill of health prior to joining the Hammers and looked sharp during his brief cameo in the win over Everton.

Initial reports claimed West Ham’s new striker could be out for around three to four weeks as a result of the knee injury – which was sustained just 30 seconds into his debut.
With crucial games coming up in West Ham’s battle for survival and the club’s season-long problems with scoring goals, David Moyes needs the former Aston Villa man fit and available.
Well there could be some welcome good news on that front it seems.
A big claim has been made about a West Ham decision on a plan of action for striker Ings and the next 24 hours are crucial.
According to The Sun, Ings has been given an injection in his knee in a bid to speed up his recovery.

Now West Ham face an anxious wait as they assess his reaction to the jab in the next 24 hours.
“Danny Ings has been given a jab in his injured knee to speed up his recovery…” The Sun claims.
“Hammers medical staff are now waiting to assess the reaction to the jab and will know more in the next 24 hours.”
Ings cannot play in Monday night’s FA Cup fourth round tie at Derby anyway, meaning he will have had nearly two weeks to rest and recover before West Ham’s next Premier League match.
And encouragingly the report claims that should the injection prove successful, Ings may well be fit for that huge game at Newcastle next weekend with Moyes ‘hopeful his new signing will not miss any more time’ besides the cup match.
We’ll be keeping fingers and Hammers crossed.
