Aaron Cresswell has opened up on what the West Ham players are saying about the UEFA Europa Conference League behind closed doors.

The Hammers have won our first two games in Group B of the UEFA Europa Conference League against FCSB and Silkeborg respectively.

Next up for West Ham is a tricky double header against Belgian side Anderlecht – our main rivals for top spot in Group B.

Anderlecht drew their last outing with FCSB, so four points from the two games against the Belgians will put the Hammers in pole position to finish top of the group.

Winning the competition this season will automatically qualify us for the Europa League next term, so we have to go all out for the trophy.

Cresswell shares what West Ham players are saying about UEFA Europa Conference League

The 32-year-old Hammers left-back had admitted that he and his teammates are delighted with their start in Europe this season.

And Cresswell shared what the West Ham players are saying behind closed doors about our next two games in the UECL, when speaking to the club’s official website:

“We’ve just been talking about it inside the dressing room. We’ve now got Anderlecht back-to-back and we want to win all the games we play in this group,” the No3 continued. We won’t rest on our laurels and think we’ve got easy games because we certainly haven’t. You’ve got to give these type of teams respect and I think we did that.”

The next two games in Group B will be absolutely vital for the Hammers.

Two wins against Anderlecht could mean that we actually qualify as group winners after four games, depending on how the FCSB vs Silkeborg games pan out.

West Ham have a strong chance of winning the UEFA Europa Conference League this season, in my opinion.

And it’s great to know that the players are taking it so seriously as well.
