Dawson looked extremely rusty at times, but that’s fair enough. He hasn’t played 90 minutes since the end of last season after all.

The Hammers skipper, 23, spoke to reporters after our 3-2 win last night and raved about big Daws, as quoted by The Evening Standard:
“Obviously [Gianluca] Scamacca’s was a great goal but for Daws to score that, obviously he’s had a tough couple of months but we’re delighted he’s with us and obviously the fans love him as well.”
Now, Rice’s comments prove just how important Craig Dawson is to this West Ham United team.
He’s obviously a very good defender and is vital for us on the pitch.
But his off-field influence is hugely important as well. The 32-year-old is a massively popular figure at the London Stadium, with with the fans and his fellow players.
