However, things have just got a lot worse for the Reds it seems, with yet another player having succumbed to injury.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be quietly optimistic that his side can cause a shock at Anfield, and guide us to our first domestic semi-final since 2011 in the process.
We all know how good Liverpool are at Anfield, but with so many players out injured and a huge Premier League clash with Arsenal to come in just a few day’s time, tonight may well be a big chance for us.
And yet another Reds star will now be unavailable for the quarter-final clash…

Liverpool blow ahead of West Ham Carabao Cup clash
Ryan Gravenberch will now miss out tonight with a muscle problem caused by fatigue, according to Reds assistant boss Pep Lijnders (Liverpool Echo).
Liverpool will already be without Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Ben Doak and Alexis MacAllister for tonight’s game (Premier League’s official website).
And now Gravenberch can be added to that list.
The 21-year-old joined Liverpool in the summer from Bayern Munich for around £34 million (Sky Sports).
Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of the Dutchman, recently labelling him as ‘top-class’ (Daily Mail), and he has already made a really big impact at Anfield.
Gravenberch looks like he’s ideally suited to the English game, and at just 21, he will undoubtedly have a key role to play for the Merseyside outfit for at least the next decade.
However, with the Netherlands international set to miss tonight’s Liverpool vs West Ham Carabao Cup quarter-final clash, as well as seven of his teammates, the door will be wide open for the Hammers to reach the last four of the competition.
