The Lincoln vs West Ham United Carabao Cup clash was an opportunity for numerous fringe players to come in and impress David Moyes.
There weren’t many standout performers on the night for West Ham against Lincoln, but one player in particular would have given David Moyes something to think about.

The Hammers won the match 1-0 in the end, and for the most part it was a real struggle at the LNER Stadium.

Lukasz Fabianski was someone who actually kept West Ham on level terms heading into the half-time break.
The 38-year-old has had to make do with warming the bench in the Premier League this season, after Alphonse Areola was promoted to be the club’s number one goalkeeper.
And last night, Fabianski did his chances of forcing his way back into the starting XI in the Premier League no harm at all…
One Hammer was brilliant during Lincoln vs West Ham clash
The experienced Polish goalkeeper would have been buzzing to be involved last night, and he was obviously desperate to prove a point to Moyes.
Fabianski made a stunning save just before half-time that kept the scores level at half-time:
What an incredible save that was from the 38-year-old, and he showed such incredible agility and reflexes, especially given his advancing years.
Hammers assistant Billy McKinlay spoke to reporters after the match last night, and offered huge words of praise for Fab, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“Lukasz Fabiański has been a stalwart for this Club for a number of years and he obviously has been terrific in the last two games that he’s played. He made some terrific saves tonight when we needed them, so he is 100 per cent reliable.”
The problem that Fabianski faces is that Areola has been pretty impressive between the sticks this season.
All that he can do is keep working hard and hope that he gets a chance in the Premier League again. The great thing for West Ham is that Fabianski is clearly still completely reliable as a stand-in for Areola, and he proved that with his performance vs Lincoln last night.
