Mohammed Kudus hasn’t been anywhere near his best for West Ham United this season.
West Ham signed Mohammed Kudus from Ajax in the summer of 2023 for around £38 million, and he has been fantastic for us on the whole.

However, his exceptional ability has attracted the likes of Arsenal, with a January move to The Emirates being mooted.
That said, Kudus, who earns £90k-a-week at the London Stadium (Spotrac), just hasn’t been at it this season.
Considering his talent and unbelievable potential, a return of three goals and two assists in 15 games isn’t good enough.

The 24-year-old has pace, power and technical ability in abundance, and he’s easily good enough to bag 15 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League as a bare minimum every single season he plays.
I think there’s a clear an obvious problem that is preventing Kudus from showing his best stuff.
He has fallen out with Lopetegui already this season, but we need to find a way to get him back to his very best.
West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus problem is so obvious to see
The Hammers forward has been playing with his shoulders slumped for quite some time now.
With the Ghana international low on form and confidence, we’re nowhere near as good going forward as we are when he’s on fire.
So what is the problem? I think it’s very simple really.
In my opinion, Kudus simply doesn’t want to be at West Ham anymore.
That may sound like a big shout, but I don’t see how anyone can go against that notion, given his performances, and the nature of the way he’s mooching around the pitch at the moment.
Sure, he’s playing in his least favoured position out wide on the left, but his effort and application simply aren’t there right now.
He hasn’t been attacking his opponents with any kind of vigour, and he just seems to be far too easy to defend against right now.
It’s time to take action.
Potential solutions for Kudus problem
Well, there are three ways we can solve the Ghanaian’s issues.

Firstly, the board could part ways with Julen Lopetegui. Kudus clearly doesn’t see eye to eye with the Spaniard, and the relationship he shares with his coach is seriously affecting his form.
A new manager may well give him the boost he needs.
Another option is for the owners to insist that Lopetegui starts playing him in his strongest position – through the middle as a number 10.
The former Ajax man has insisted that central attacking midfield is his best and most comfortable role.
When he’s out wide on the left, the game seems to pass him by, and he’s nowhere near as effective.
Finally, and this is my least favourite option, West Ham could sell Mohammed Kudus in January.
The Hammers will be able to sell him for a huge fee, and it might just be better to cash in on him now, rather than persist with a player who’s so obviously dreaming of a big move away from the club.
It’s time that some drastic action is taken with Kudus, and I feel like David Sullivan has to step in and instigate the change needed, whatever that may entail.
