West Ham have been handed a golden opportunity to sign a quality striker in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland are reportedly willing to let fan favourite Wilson Isidor leave after a difficult 2025/26 campaign.

Whether the Hammers are in the Premier League or the Championship next season, he would be a superb signing.

Here is everything we know about Isidor’s potential availability and why West Ham should sign him as a priority.

West Ham should target Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor

Wilson Isidor was an integral part of Sunderland’s promotion-winning 2024/25 season, scoring 13 Championship goals.

While that is not an excellent tally, it should be noted that Isidor was not the Black Cats’ designated penalty taker.

The 25-year-old also offers more traits than just goal-scoring, including impressive hold-up play, movement, and speed.

However, Isidor has not been given the same opportunities in the Premier League due to Brian Brobbey’s arrival.

The former Ajax striker has leapfrogged Isidor in the pecking order, limiting him to just over 1,000 minutes of league football.

Despite his lack of playing time, Isidor has still scored five Premier League goals at a rate of one every 223 minutes.

This suggests Isidor could provide 10-15 Premier League goals per year if he were first-choice at a club like West Ham.

Alternatively, as he enters the prime years of his career, he could potentially contend for the Golden Boot in the Championship.

Therefore, whether West Ham avoid relegation or not, they should pursue a summer move for the Sunderland man.

SunSport has reported that the Black Cats will accept a lower offer than their £25 million January asking price.

Everton and Nottingham Forest were previously interested, so the Hammers could face competition from several clubs.

Isidor will also have the opportunity to raise his profile with Haiti at the 2026 World Cup before deciding his next move.

Hopefully, the prospect of playing for a big club in London would be enough to convince the Haitian international to join.
