West Ham are expected to move quickly with their process of replacing Nuno Espirito Santo at the London Stadium.

Nuno’s future at West Ham hangs in the balance, with the owners considering sacking the Portuguese given their recent form.

The recent 3-0 loss to Wolves has only made things worse, and it could force the hierarchy into making a decision to part ways with the Portuguese.

Humiliation at Molineux…

Where does this rank among West Ham's WORST ever Premier League defeats?

Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United appears dejected during the Premier League match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United at Molineux on January 03, 2026 in Wolverhampton, England.

Slaven Bilic expected to be spoken to if West Ham sack Nuno Espirito Santo

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, the game against Nottingham Forest could prove to be decisive for the Portuguese.

Should the Hammers lose that one, the difference between them and Forest, currently 17th, would be a colossal seven points.

That margin is pretty much viewed as extremely hard to overcome at the bottom end of the Premier League table.

Imagine if Nuno were to be sacked…😮

Who would you want West Ham to replace him with and why?

A defeat for West Ham could see them sacking Nuno, parting ways with a manager for the second time this season.

The owners would then have to look for a replacement, and it makes sense for them to begin talks before making an irreversible decision regarding the current manager.

West Ham admire Slaven Bilic and could look to commence talks with him over his availability.

What is Bilic up to currently?

Bilic, a one-time Saudi Pro League Manager of the Month (January 2019), is currently out of work, so there would be no compensation required in order for the Irons to hire him.

After leaving the Hammers in 2017, he moved to Al-Ittihad and then returned to England to be the West Brom manager.

He even had a stint in China as the Beijing Guoan boss before taking over as the first-team head coach at Watford and Al-Fateh.

The 57-year-old is not currently employed by any club, but he does offer punditry for a number of broadcasters in different languages and also makes occasional appearances on podcasts.

It remains to be seen if he would want to return to a high-pressure situation at the London Stadium, but given how highly-regarded he is by the fans and the hierarchy, he may want to help the club avoid relegation and sign a short-term deal.
