Talented West Ham youngster could save David Sullivan £70 million
Lucas Paqueta is someone who seriously divides the Hammers fanbase.
Nobody will ever forget the through-ball that he played to Jarrod Bowen in the Europa Conference League final in 2023.
However, his overall performances simply haven’t been good enough over the past two years and now it could well be time for Paqueta and West Ham to go their separate ways.
Paqueta is being linked with moves to Tottenham and Flamengo, and the West Ham board should not think twice about selling the Brazilian.
The beauty for the Hammers is that they don’t need to spend a single penny to replace Paqueta.
George Earthy is primed for the West Ham No.10 shirt and it’s now time for the 21-year-old to be given the promotion that he deserves.
Now, Earthy could be in line for a loan exit from West Ham in the January transfer window.
There is a case to be made for him to be kept at the club, but if he does leave on loan, Sullivan must sign him down to a new long-term deal under the proviso that he will be a regular starter for the Hammers next season.
Earthy was once described as ‘West Ham’s David Silva’ by former boss David Moyes, so it’s clear to see just how much potential he has.
He is unquestionably one of the most exciting youngsters to have come through the Hammers ranks over the past decade.

The 21-year-old has technical ability in abundance and is a joy to watch when he’s gliding across the pitch with the ball at his feet.
Earthy is a really good passer of the football and excels when having to create for his team.
The major bonus of playing Earthy instead of Paqueta is that the Englishman will give 110% per cent every single time he steps on the pitch.

If David Sullivan really does want to start building for the future now, he needs to sell Paqueta and give Earthy the number 10 shirt.
West Ham will surely be able to recoup at least £20 million for the Brazilian and then promoting Earthy would save the club the cost of signing a new No.10.
How much would a top-class attacking midfielder cost these days? It’s no exaggeration to suggest that you won’t get much change from £50 million.
So, in essence, selling Paqueta and promoting Earthy could actually save David Sullivan £70 million in the long run.
That should be an absolute no-brainer for the West Ham co-owner.
