That’s karma as Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel get their comeuppance in Zagreb after the West Ham United debacle.
Revenge is sweet. But sometimes karma tastes just as good and West Ham fans are licking their lips today while Chelsea lick their wounds.
The blood of West Ham fans is still boiling after the controversial scenes in their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Referee Andy Madley and VAR official Jarred Gillet combined during West Ham’s clash at rivals Chelsea for what is being dubbed the worst decision since the introduction of the technology.
Madley saw nothing wrong with Maxwel Cornet’s last gasp equaliser for West Ham at Stamford Bridge.
But Gillet sent Madley to the pitchside monitor and he overturned his original decision to inexplicably rule that Jarrod Bowen had fouled hapless Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The world and its wife condemned the VAR-cical decision which has been labelled a disgrace.
And the PGMOL has issued a full apology acknowledging the goal should have stood (Sky Sports).
To rub salt in the wound, Thomas Tuchel somehow managed to keep a straight face when insisting the officials had made the right call and that Chelsea deserved to win. Not only in interviews and his press conference straight after the game, but when he was in front of reporters again ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Croatia to face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Zagreb. West Ham know it well.
When West Ham strode to the semi-finals of the Europa League last season they more than earned the right.
And comprehensively beating Zagreb 2-0 in their own back yard was a real feather in the cap. The Croat champions once went on a 103-game home winning streak before it was ended by Lyon in 2016.
West Ham are one of only two sides to have beaten Dinamo Zagreb at home in the last year.
Winning in Zagreb isn’t for everyone, is it Chelsea?

Spurs were smashed 3-0 there in 2021 and Chelsea were beaten there last night with far-reaching consequences.
That’s karma for you as Chelsea and Tuchel got their comeuppance in Zagreb after the West Ham debacle.
The Blues now face an uphill battle to qualify from the group stage and Tuchel has paid the price with his job this morning.
How ironic that some of the last words we heard from the sacked Chelsea boss were uttered trying to hypocritically defend that ludicrous VAR call just a week after venting his own fury at the use of the video technology against Spurs.

Many Chelsea fans have been mocking West Ham since the game on Saturday.
But who’s laughing now?
Karma is a pitch sometimes.
