West Ham ace Declan Rice has been omitted from Sky Sports’ best XI outside the current top six.

Now, everyone is obviously entitled to their opinion. But leaving out Hammers ace Rice seems to be beyond ridiculous.

The 21-year-old is a defensive midfielder by trade, and he has made the fourth most tackles in the entire division so far this season with 87 to his name (premierleague.com).

The West Ham ace has also made 61 interceptions, 41 clearances and 249 ball recoveries (premierleague.com).

In spite of Rice’s tender years, he has displayed remarkable levels of maturity and consistency over the past two years. And he has arguably been the Hammers’ best player throughout that period.

The West Ham ace has already been capped seven times by England – no mean feat for someone so young.

It does seem like he is massively under-appreciated by everyone outside of the London Stadium. Hammers fans who watch Rice week-in, week-out know how good he is.

And it seems as though he will never get the recognition that he deserves until he makes a move to one of the big six clubs in England or even a European giant.

It seems like the media are desperate for Rice to join a massive club. And until that happens, they will not give the West Ham ace the praise that he so rightly deserves.
