David Moyes allowed Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to leave West Ham United in the January transfer window.
In fact, West Ham boss David Moyes candidly admitted that the reason he allowed both Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to leave the London Stadium in the January transfer window was that they both badly wanted out.
The Hammers manager has allowed his squad to be stripped to the bare bones, and now we’re in real danger of slipping down the Premier League table as a result.
Listen, Fornals and Benrahma have been terrible for West Ham this season, but that’s mainly because they haven’t been a sufficient run of starts in order to help them find some rhythm.
Also, just because they wanted to leave doesn’t mean the Hammers had to sell them. Especially when there are other players at the club who have pushed for exits recently…

How are 2 players still at West Ham after Moyes sold Fornals and Benrahma
Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell were both heavily linked with moves to Wolves in the summer transfer window
The 33-year-old forward was apparently keen to move to Molineux, whilst the same could be said for the 34-year-old left-back.
So why on earth weren’t those two allowed to go – players we don’t need by the way?
If Moyes places such importance on what players want, surely he should have shipped out Cresswell and Antonio.
However, if the team is more important than what the players want, then why did Moyes allow Benrahma and Fornals to leave in the winter?
It’s just shambolic squad management from top to bottom at West Ham. We don’t know whether it’s Moyes or the owners who are really to blame.
What is for certain though, is the fact that the Algerian and Spaniard should not have both been allowed to leave the club in January, with no replacements being brought in. It was gross negligence in the extreme.
And if the Hammers were to let some players leave, why on earth wasn’t it the ineffective Cresswell and Antonio?
