Jack Wilshere joined West Ham on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.
The 28-year-old was signed on a three-year deal thought to be worth £100,000 per week (Spotrac).

The former Arsenal man has failed to make an impact at the London Stadium, however. Unfortunately for him, injuries have prevented him from kicking on and playing regularly for the Hammers.
Wilshere has made just 16 appearances for West Ham in 21 months, racking up just one goal and one assist in the process (Transfermarkt).
The 34-capped England international is currently out injured, with no return date scheduled.
With the recent coronavirus playing havoc with sporting fixtures all over the globe, however, could Wilshere have one final shot at redemption?
Chance for 28-year-old to build up fitness
If this season had been played out as normal, finishing around mid-May time, the former Arsenal man would probably have had no chance of playing before the end of the campaign.
And it would have been no surprise to see West Ham try and cut their losses on Wilshere before the start of next term.
He might just have been given a lifeline now, however.
Wilshere will now be able to work on his fitness for four or five weeks. He will be in no rush considering the fact that there is no action until April 30th. And the 28-year-old will be able to slowly rebuild his fitness and strength.
Who knows? Injuries may have ruined the West Ham man’s chances of ever returning to anywhere near his best.
But at least the current break will give him a chance.
And if he can return to full fitness by the end of next month, perhaps he could play a key role for the Hammers during their final nine games of the season.
