West Ham United head coach Graham Potter finally got his man on deadline day, with Evan Ferguson joining on loan from Brighton.
Graham Potter was desperate to bring Evan Ferguson to the London Stadium to spearhead his attack for West Ham.
West Ham’s long wait for a proper centre-forward with youth on his side came to an end on transfer deadline day, when Ferguson joined the club on a season-long loan from Brighton.
The deal does not include a buy option or an obligation, so if he is successful with us, I hope the two clubs are able to reach an agreement in the summer.
For now though, let’s just enjoy him while he’s here.

I’m convinced that he will add so much to our attacking play. Ferguson will act as a proper focal point for us at the very least.
Here’s to hoping that it’s very much onwards and upwards for West Ham and the young Irishman from here on out.
Evan Ferguson joins former manager Graham Potter at West Ham
The Hammers head coach is clearly delighted that Ferguson is now a Hammers player.
I believe that the 20-year-old will be a great signing for West Ham, and I can’t wait to see him play in the Claret and Blue under Potter.
Something caught my eye about the announcement of the Ferguson signing.
Potter spoke to the club’s website after the 20-year-old’s move to the London Stadium became official:
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Evan in on loan until the end of the season,” said Potter. “He’s a player we obviously know very well, so I’m grateful to the Board for bringing him in.
“He’s got plenty of quality attributes as a striker that we believe will benefit the group over the course of the coming months.

“We’re excited to integrate him into the squad and see him in action in the weeks to come.”
Now, that made a big difference from the reaction to all of our summer signings didn’t it.
But what was so different about it specifically?
Well, every signing the Hammers made back in the summer window was met with comments from the limelight seeker in chief Tim Steidten.
Julen Lopetegui’s opinion on the new arrivals was nowhere to be seen, and his lack of involvement in things like that seeped into the day-to-day running of the club, whereby he had no control over anything in the end.
Graham Potter praising the signing of Evan Ferguson was really refreshing to hear, and it proves that West Ham have changed tack.
I am really excited about the prospect of Potter pulling the strings at the London Stadium, alongside his trusted recruitment guri Kyle Macaulay of course.
