What Sullivan can do to help Nuno is ensure that this January transfer window is like none other and they treat it as such.
Relegation from the Premier League will be a huge hit to revenues, so it makes sense for the owners to loosen the purse strings.
Nuno has already been let down by Sullivan and the board, as he did not get the coaches he wanted from Nottingham Forest.
Not backing him in the coming weeks would be akin to shooting themselves in the foot.
How much money will West Ham spend in January?
West Ham are not known to be big spenders in January and only spent seven figures once in the last five winter windows.
However, this window is not like any other, and failure to act will result in relegation.
With Niclas Fullkrug set to leave, potentially followed by James Ward-Prowse, player sales are going to see more money coming into the club coffers.
This gives the board the potential to spend around £20million-£30million on signing a marquee striker permanently.
If they prefer going down the loan route, they could even aim higher and compensate the striker in terms of wages.
A new defender is also needed, so including player sales, West Ham could spend between £35million and £40million on two quality signings.
