David Moyes is standing on very thin ice right now, and he is definitely in danger of losing the West Ham United manager’s job.
The West Ham job could soon be up for grabs with David Moyes really feeling the heat, and the owners not happy one little bit with the 6-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
The Hammers manager has a run of four Premier League games now where he should be looking to win every single one of them – Nottingham Forest away, Brentford at home, Everton away and Burnley at home.
A bare minimum of a 7/8 point return is required from those games. And in order to do just that, I think Moyes needs to bring Danny Ings back into the team – something that would have been unthinkable just a few weeks ago!
The 31-year-old has been a total flop since moving to the London Stadium from Aston Villa in January 2023.
However, he put in his best performance ever in a West Ham shirt against Sheffield United just over three weeks ago.
The strange thing was that Ings was deployed in the number 10 role, and Moyes needs to revert back to that tactical switch now…

When your back is against the wall, and you’re under real pressure, the worst thing you can do is keep doing the same things that got you in trouble in the first place.
It’s the definition of insanity right? In times of trouble, you need to be brave, and make some bold decisions.
That’s exactly what Moyes needs to do now, and Ings is the man who the Scot should turn to.
Playing the 31-year-old in the number 10 role will provide Jarrod Bowen with more support, and it will enable Lucas Paqueta to move out wide left as that’s where Moyes clearly prefers him to play, with Mohammed Kudus out on the right wing.
Edson Alvarez and Kalvin Phillips could then form a double pivot in defensive midfield. I just feel like David Moyes has to change something if he is to save his West Ham job.
Danny Ings could end up being the man who saves Moyes’s skin, but is the Scot brave enough to give the 31-year-old another chance? Only time will tell.
