West Ham United absolutely have to make a ruthless Maxwel Cornet decision in the January transfer window.
Maxwel Cornet joined West Ham from Burnley in the summer of 2022 for around £17.5 million (Sky Sports).

The 27-year-old arrived at the London Stadium with a big reputation as an exciting left winger who could also play as a wing-back.

However, he has endured a disastrous spell with the Hammers and David Moyes clearly doesn’t fancy him one little bit.
Cornet suffered an injury back in October 2022 and didn’t return to first-team action until March of this year. The road back from injury has been an incredibly hard one for the winger.
In my opinion, it’s time for the West Ham boss to get ruthless with the 30-capped Ivory Coast international and move him on in January…
West Ham manager David Moyes has to get ruthless with Maxwel Cornet
The former Burnley man has made just 15 appearances for the Hammers since October 1st 2022. That’s bad enough in itself but during those outings, he has been given a total of just 285 minutes by Moyes – an average of only 19 minutes per match (Transfermarkt).
Even when Moyes has a chance to give him the full 90 in midweek against League One Lincoln City, the Scot dragged the Ivorian off after 66 minutes.

Every time Cornet has been given a chance by the West Ham boss this season, he has desperately failed to impress.
The former Burnley man doesn’t seem to possess the pace that he did at Lyon and Burnley, so maybe the injury he suffered last season has affected him to a point where he will never be the player he once was.
Maxwel Cornet is clearly not good enough to be playing for West Ham – the fact that Moyes has barely used him this season tells us that the Scot definitely doesn’t rate him.
The Hammers manager needs to get ruthless with the Ivorian in the January transfer window and sell him, if that is at all possible of course.
