The Hammers have made a truly woeful start to the 2022/23 Premier League campaign and are currently marooned inside the bottom three.
David Moyes is dangerously underestimating the severity of West Ham United’s current situation in my opinion and things will only get worse if he doesn’t get real about the state that we’re in.
Should the Hammers fail to win against Wolves tomorrow evening, the pressure on Moyes will be really cranked up.
In order to get the win, the Scot must make numerous changes to the XI that failed so miserably away at Everton two weeks ago.
The problems that West Ham currently have are clear for all to see. It seems as though Moyes is failing to grasp just how bad things are, however…

The Hammers are in real trouble at the moment.
Four points from our opening seven Premier League games is an atrocious return.
The main problem for West Ham is that Moyes continues to select the players that are letting him down so badly, every single week.
There is no cohesion to our play and our lack of footballing identity has really come home to roost this season.
David Moyes doesn’t quite see it that way though, and that’s a real concern.
The Scot responded to reporters this afternoon when asked about West Ham’s poor form, as quoted by Football.London:
We know what happens when you are losing games, that is part of the job and I accept that. I think we have done a lot of things, a couple of things haven’t gone for us. I’ve worked over 1,000 games or so as a manager, six months we were in the semi-finals of Europe, challenging for the top four or top five.
Three goals we’ve scored, we’ve hit the woodwork six times, missed a penalty as well. We have created chances, in most games our xG is probably more than we’ve got at the moment. It is more about taking our chances.
There’s some things we have done pretty well but haven’t quite got the results we think we should have got.
We actually feel quite comfortable here. Our work is to maintain that position, we’ve not had the start we wanted. In five of those games we’ve only had two days recovery. At the start of the season, we only had one fit centre-back. I know the results have got to get better.
West Ham boss David Moyes is deluded
That just seems like total denial to me.
It’s a real worry that Moyes isn’t grasping just how bad things have got. He needs to make sweeping changes to his starting lineup and tactics as well, if we are to turn things around.
David Moyes is seemingly dangerously underestimating the severity of West Ham United’s current situation. And if he continues to do the same things, it will end very badly for the Hammers, and him personally.
