West Ham boss David Moyes spoke to reporters after last night’s defeat to Liverpool and delivered his verdict on the performance of Sebastien Haller, as quoted by Football.London.

The 26-year-old Frenchman is an incredibly divisive figure amongst the Hammers fans.
Some think he is lazy, cumbersome and not good enough for the Premier League. Others think he is just misunderstood, however, and needs to be playing in a different system if he is show his best stuff.
If we’re being honest, however, there is probably some truth in both sides of the argument.
Haller struggled away at Liverpool last night. He didn’t cause the Reds defenders enough problems. It is perhaps a little harsh to judge the 26-year-old on his performance against the Premier League champions, however.
West Ham boss David Moyes was asked by Football.London what he thought of Haller’s performance after the game last night and the Scot responded:
“I think Sebastien has got to be self-motivated to get his level of performance up so he can get goals and score. We will show faith in him and we want him to come back and get us the goals and performances to go with it. It was always going to be a hard game tonight for anybody playing against Liverpool. It would have been if it was Micky Antonio or anyone else. We want Seb to get goals. He has done in the past and we will give him the opportunity but, obviously, his performance levels need to be good.”
Moyes’s comments seem very fair. If Haller puts in the work and produces the quality, he will be given chances.
The Frenchman proved during his time with Eintracht Frankfurt that he has genuine quality. The Premier League is clearly a step up in intensity from the Bundesliga, however.
And if Haller slightly adjusts his game, he could still have a big part to play for West Ham this season.
