Some West Ham fans have been left bemused by Lukasz Fabianski’s performance against Liverpool at Anfield this evening.

The 35-year-old joined the Hammers from Swansea City in the summer of 2018 for around £7 million (BBC).
And he proved to be an instant hit at the London Stadium. Fabianski was a cool, composed and commanding figure between the sticks for West Ham.
Unfortunately for the 52-capped Poland international, the former Arsenal and Swansea City stopper suffered an injury in September last year, and he was absent from action until December.
Despite the odd decent performance since his return, he quite simply has not looked like the same goalkeeper.
Fabianski, who earns £65k-a-week (Spotrac) has been shaky when coming out for crosses and the 35-year-old’s handling has been incredibly suspect. His kicking has left a lot to be desired as well.
The Polish goalkeeper made two glaring mistakes during the first-half against Liverpool today. Luckily, they didn’t end up costing us dearly. But that kind of shakiness from a goalkeeper can seep into the defence.
And confidence can drop very quickly indeed.
He did seem to improve slightly in the second-half. But his inconsistent form is undoubtedly a concern.
Some West Ham fans took to Twitter after the game and highlighted how Fabianski just doesn’t look like the goalkeeper he once was any more:
