West Ham United were hammered by Liverpool on Sunday, and Julen Lopetegui must take a lot of the blame.
Sure, many of the West Ham players simply aren’t up to the task at hand, but Julen Lopetegui has failed miserably in his role as Hammers head coach.

Amazingly, Lopetegui’s job is said to be safe…for now at least.
The Hammers have been truly horrendous this season, and the job that Lopetegui has done since arriving at the London Stadium simply hasn’t been good enough.
The football on display has been truly horrendous to watch and the results have been unacceptably bad as well.

If we’re all being honest with ourselves, the Hammers are actually fortunate to have gained the points total that we have this season.
Lopetegui was the wrong appointment from the start, and David Sullivan needs to act now if he is to save West Ham’s season.
David Sullivan must sack Julen Lopetegui
The Spaniard has failed to make any kind of connection with the fans since taking over the Hammers, or the players for that matter.
His press conferences are dull and his team plays like his personality – with a total lack of charisma or excitement.
I have never felt so detached from a West Ham team in my life as I do right now.
One thing about the mess Lopetegui has resided over this season stands out to me as evidence of why Sullivan needs to sack him.
The Spaniard has made half-time changes in all but seven games this season.
He has made more half-time changes than any other Premier League manager, and that says one very simple thing to me.
The 58-year-old is tinkering too much and still doesn’t know his best team – he’s six months into the job remember!

Lopetegui was at it again during our defeat to Liverpool.
Vladimir Coufal and Edson Alvarez were hauled off at half-time, with Jean-Clair Todibo and Niclas Fullkrug coming on to replace them.
I mean, why he started the hapless Coufal is anyone’s guess. The 32-year-old is miles off the pace of Premier League football now.
It was a shocking setup all-round – one that Liverpool must have loved playing against.
David Sullivan must realise that West Ham are going nowhere fast with Julen Lopetegui at the helm.
Sacking him should be the only option now, and the amount of changes he keeps making during the half-time interval is evidence alone that he’s not the man for the job.
