West Ham United played host to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday evening, and Hammers News have compiled our player ratings from the game.
The Premier League clash between West Ham and Liverpool was a hugely important one for both sides.
Liverpool are one of the very best teams in the world, so this evening’s game was always going to be a tough one for the Hammers.
However, we showed them far too much respect and as a result, the Reds had their way with us.
The Hammers didn’t threaten Liverpool as much as we should have early on in the game, and the tactics used by Julen Lopetegui were shown up for what they were – cowardly in the extreme.

West Ham didn’t deserve anything from the game.
And the vast majority of our players desperately underperformed.
West Ham player ratings vs Liverpool
That was an extremely tough watch wasn’t it.
Here’s how Hammers News rated the West Ham players’ performances against the Reds…
Alphonse Areola 7.5
In all fairness to the Frenchman, he actually had his best game for West Ham in quite some time. However, he should have saved Liverpool’s third goal, and that was a reminder of why he’s been warming the bench for us since October.
Vladimir Coufal 3
I’m sorry, but the Czech Republic international is nowhere near good enough. He’s so far off the pace in the Premier League it’s scary. Coufal was awful today, and I really think we should move him on in January. Hooked at half-time.
Max Kilman 6.5
A solid if not spectacular performance from Kilman. The 27-year-old was one of the better perfomers for West Ham on the day, but I’ve definitely seen him play better.
Konstantinos Mavropanos 5.5
Not great from Mavropanos, but he didn’t make any glaring errors, unusually for him.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 4.5

A poor performance from the 27-year-old right-back. He was caught upfield out of position time and time again and the way he just just jogged back was not good enough.
Emerson Palmieri 6
An extremely average performance from Emerson. He didn’t necessarily do anything wrong, but he failed to make a difference going forward either.
Edson Alvarez 5.5
Decent from the Mexican, he actually held on to the ball really well at times. Again though, it was nothing special from Alvarez. Hooked at half-time.
Carlos Soler 4
Really, really poor from Soler. He was well off the pace and gave the ball away time and time again.
Lucas Paqueta 3
What else can you say about Paqueta – he was abysmally poor today. I think we need to cut our losses and sell him in January if we can. He’s a show-pony and nothing else.
Mohammed Kudus 7.5
The Ghanaian was the brightest outfield player for the Hammers today. He caused Andy Robertson all sorts of problems and was a constant threat for us – the only one we had really.

Jarrod Bowen 6
Very average outing from the skipper, but he did work his socks off as per usual. He’s just not a centre-forward is he, we can surely all agree on that now. Went off injured midway through the second-half.
Subs:
Niclas Fullkrug 6
Did absolutely nothing. He’s looking more and more like a terrible signing with every week that passes.
Jean-Clair Todibo 7
Decent from the Frenchman – he’s so much better than Mavropanos in my opinion, and needs to be starting games regularly now.
Crysencio Summerville 6
Plenty of pace and desire but little end product once again from the Dutchman.
Andy Irving 6
Had some bright moments actually, but it’s clear to see that he shouldn’t be at a top Premier League club.
Luis Guilerhme NA
Well, that was quite simply not good enough was it.
An awful team performance borne from a woeful setup from Lopetegui.
Liverpool were far too good for West Ham today, but the player ratings prove just how poor we were.
Hopefully we don’t have to suffer this garbage for much longer.
