The early closure of the transfer window has created a different dynamic this summer and West Ham attacked it with a change of approach as well.
Early dealings were the order of the day as the Davids relinquished control of the transfer dealings but that doesn’t mean that there is no interest in deadline day from a Hammers perspective.
So, as the window enters its final three hours, we’ve taken a look at what’s already happened today and what may still be to come…

As expected, Lucas Perez’s arrival in east London has been confirmed. First unofficially, by Jack Wilshere on Instagram and then officially by the club.
Carlos Sanchez is expected to join Perez at the London Stadium, although ex West Ham employee on Twitter has stated there is a small hitch, but supporters might not be too disappointed by that…

That stalling on Sanchez has also put the brakes on Edimilson Fernandes’ move in the opposite direction to Fiorentina, but one deal should go through if the other does.
The Hartlepool Mail are reporting that Middlesbrough are now in the hunt to land Sam Byram, who has been linked with Nottingham Forest throughout the summer, although as Championship clubs can still loan players from the top flight until the 31st August, there isn’t as much of a rush on that one.
Another Hammer who could be set for a return to the Championship is Robert Snodgrass. The Birmingham Mail report that Steve Bruce wants the Scotsman to come back to Villa Park, where he spent the whole of last season.
