What Derby County fans responded to West Ham stadium taunts during their FA Cup clash was brilliant but the Hammers owned Pride Park.
There was something somewhat nostalgic about West Ham’s 2-0 victory in the fourth round clash at Derby on Monday night.
It was not too long ago that Derby were a Premier League side and West Ham fans have fond memories of a few handsome victories – including two 5-0 triumphs – over the Rams.
Pride Park in itself – while a more modern ground – evoked memories of West Ham’s beloved Upton Park.

It was a packed house for the visit of West Ham as the TV cameras and Derby fans turned up hoping for – and many expecting – an upset.
West Ham did not read that particular script, though, doing a really professional job on League One Derby to seal a safe passage to the fifth round where they will once again meet Man United – who else.
There was no doubting the best thing about West Ham at Pride Park – the supporters.
Over 5,000 West Ham fans made the trip to Derby for a Monday night game – which was being shown on terrestrial television.
And one particular exchange between the home and away fans made for hilarious listening.
What Derby fans responded to West Ham stadium taunts was brilliant but the Hammers owned Pride Park.
While the Hammers packed out the away end and then some, there were some small pockets of the home end with empty seats.

Hammers supporters chanted “Your ground’s too big for you” to the Derby fans.
That prompted a brilliant response from the hosts who quickly replied: “Your ground’s a running track” in a dig at West Ham’s much-maligned London Stadium home.
Credit where it is due to the Derby fans on that one.
But there is no disputing the travelling West Ham army dominated their lovely ground, which it must be said is deserving of Premier League football.
West Ham captain Declan Rice paid tribute to the club’s away support after the game while manager David Moyes described it as the ‘best ever’ in his time at the club.
You can relive the goals from the match on West Ham’s official website.
