According to a report from A Bola, Newcastle are in pole position to sign alleged West Ham target Moussa Marega.

According to a report from the Express, Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 29-year-old Porto hitman to the London Stadium this summer.
But it seems as though the Scot’s plans could be scuppered yet again. This time by Newcastle.
West Ham desperately need to bolster their attacking ranks this summer. They have sold Albian Ajeti and Jordan Hugill, leaving Sebastien Haller and Xande Silva as the only recognised strikers at the club.
Marega would have been a very useful option for the Hammers.
But A Bola are claiming that Newcastle now lead the race for the Mali international.
It is claimed that Magpies boss Steve Bruce is lining up a £13.5 million bid to bring Marega to St James’ Park. Porto are thought to be holding out for closer to £18 million, however.
Stats
The 24-capped Mali international has scored 106 goals in 274 career appearances (Transfermarkt).
Marega racked up 15 goals and nine assists in 45 games for Porto last season (Transfermarkt). The powerful striker is a hard worker, and would provide competent support for Sebastien Haller.
But unfortunately for us, Newcastle seem to be better placed to bring the Mali ace to the Premier League this summer. And as the old saying goes…another bites the dust.
