The West Ham United Independent Supporters Association has slammed co-owner David Gold for his latest Twitter faux pas.
Gold has been criticised by a large section of fans and the WHUISA for liking a tweet which defended West Ham’s under-fire owners but also made a comment about recently deceased TV presenter Caroline Flack.
“This (again) is not ok at all David Gold,” the WHUISA said on Twitter.

‘You owe everyone an apology’
“You bring shame, ridicule and embarrassment on West Ham but worst of all, you display a callous lack of understanding around mental health issues.
“You owe everyone an apology. Look up @heads_together #UnitedWeStand #WHUnitedforChange.”

Gold withdraws ‘like’
Gold has since removed his like for the tweet.
Liking the message has courted controversy due to the reference to Caroline Flack.
But the original message also went against the grain by suggesting West Ham fans should be more appreciative of David Sullivan and Gold.
West Ham fans have been protesting against the owners this season.
A large section of fans are deeply unhappy with the lack of progress at West Ham under the duo, on and off the pitch.
Gold may well have liked the tweet by mistake.

Gold angered fans with his comments defending their tenure in interviews with talkSPORT and The Sun recently.
He then infuriated supporters by liking a Twitter post which called West Ham fans ‘morons’ – read full story here.

Gold’s time on social media has been littered with embarrassing mishaps.
But some fans like the fact the club’s owner makes himself accessible in such a way.
Even if Gold had liked the tweet inadvertently, he should be more careful given his position at the club.
Particularly on social media where he has 300,000 followers.
