West Ham striker Thierry Nevers has posted a picture of a Crystal Palace star celebrating his winner over the Hammers complete with love hearts.

Promising young forward Nevers has been loaned out to Newport County by West Ham this season.

The 20-year-old has scored one goal in 10 appearances for the Welsh club.

And now he looks to have scored a big own goal with his parent club West Ham with an antagonistic message on social media.

West Ham striker Nevers has posted a picture of Crystal Palace star Michael Olise celebrating his last minute winner over the Hammers complete with love hearts.

Olise scored from a deflected shot in the 94th minute to condemn West Ham to a 2-1 loss at the London Stadium on Sunday.

The result leaves West Ham just two points above the bottom three and has piled the pressure on manager David Moyes.

And academy striker Nevers, who was signed from Reading, has posted a picture of Olise and Wilf Zaha celebrating the winner complete with two love hearts and has tagged the Crystal Palace attacker in too.

Nevers and Olise used to be teammates at Reading. But that is no excuse for such a post.

And West Ham – who follow Nevers on his Instagram account – will surely take a dim view of what is an incendiary post.

There is no need for it and given his social media account is public – and he is undoubtedly followed by players in and around the West Ham first team – it is a silly thing to do.

It shows a complete lack of respect for West Ham’s players, staff and fans.
