West Ham striker Michail Antonio will be under real pressure against Silkeborg tonight

Michail Antonio has clearly lost his starting place in the West Ham United team to Gianluca Scamacca this season.

However, tonight’s UEFA Europa League clash with Silkeborg will be a huge opportunity for him to show David Moyes what he can offer.

Scamacca is now viewed as the Hammers’ number one centre-forward, but his form over the last two games has been well below par.

Meanwhile, Michail Antonio has been warming the bench, but Moyes will undoubtedly give him a start against Silkeborg at the London Stadium tonight.

The Jamaica international has been nowhere near his best so far this season, but we’re all well aware of what he’s capable of.

And it will be a huge chance for the 32-year-old to earn his place in the starting XI away at Manchester United on Sunday…

Big chance for West Ham ace Michail Antonio

The 32-year-old needs to show Moyes that he’s far from finished tonight.

A couple of goals against Silkeborg may well be enough for him to earn his place in the starting lineup against Manchester United on Sunday.

Signed for £7 million from Nottingham Forest back in 2015 (Daily Mail), Antonio has been a fantastic servant for the Hammers.

Antonio hasn’t been anywhere near good enough this season though, and he will know that.

He needs to hold the ball up better tonight and prove that he’s hungry to force his way back into the side for Premier League games.

Hopefully Gianluca Scamacca’a arrival at the London Stadium will help bring out the best in Antonio.

We haven’t seen it so far this term.

But tonight’s clash with Silkeborg could be a massive opportunity for Michail Antonio to get his season back on track for West Ham United.
