West Ham star Manuel Lanzini has issued an apology to fans but it’s really not necessary and he can make up for it against Sevilla.
The Hammers were beaten 1-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s title challengers at Anfield. But goodness knows how.
West Ham created more chances than any other away side at Liverpool during Klopp’s entire tenure.

But after conceding a scrappy and controversial goal in the first half, West Ham spurned five or six golden chances to get something out of the game in their own battle for the European places.
Pablo Fornals, Nikola Vlasic, Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek all missed excellent chances to score for West Ham.
The most excruciating, though, was Lanzini’s effort which he somehow side-footed over the bar from five yards out after brilliant build-up play from David Moyes’s side.

It was to prove decisive as it denied West Ham the point which they – at the very least – deserved.
West Ham skipper Mark Noble said after the game that Lanzini would not sleep after the miss as he would be replaying the moment in his mind.
And it is clearly weighing heavy on the ‘little jewel’.

That’s after West Ham star Lanzini issued an apology for the miss but it’s really not necessary and he can make up for it against Sevilla.
The Argentina midfielder took to Instagram to post an apology to West Ham fans for his huge miss.
“First I want to say I am very proud of this team,” Lanzini said in the post.
“And second sorry for that goal missed.”

It is big of Lanzini to take ownership of the miss. But the apology is really not necessary and he can make up for it this week in the big Europa League last 16 first leg against Sevilla.
West Ham can take great heart from the performance at Anfield and Lanzini was a massive part of that with another superb display.
Lanzini will be absolutely key to West Ham’s hopes of a result in Seville this Thursday night make no mistake about it.
We just have to hope that Declan Rice will be back from illness to partner him in midfield.
