West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen has opened up on receiving a call-up to the England national team squad.
The 25-year-old Hammers star has been in sensational form this season and got his reward earlier this week when Gareth Southgate named him in the England squad for the upcoming internationals.
Jarrod Bowen has 18 goals and 13 assists to his name in 51 games for West Ham United this season (Transfermarkt).
David Moyes will be delighted with the ex-Hull City ace’s progress this season, as will he be.
The lively forward has come on leaps and bounds over the past 12 months and if he continues to work hard and applies himself properly both on and off the pitch, the sky will be the limit for him.
Jarrod Bowen reacts to England squad announcement
The West Ham star was hugely deserving of his call-up to the national team squad.
He surely would have earned a cap or two back in March, had he not suffered an untimely ankle injury.
And Bowen told WHUFC.com exactly what he thought when he heard that Gareth Southgate had selected him for the Three Lions squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Hungary (twice), Italy and Germany:
“It’s unreal! I’ve had a good season and a good couple of years, and I’ve always wanted to play for England, but getting to the national team is harder than almost anything else in football, so for it to happen is the icing on the cake. The media had been saying I was in the frame, and that’s all good, but you’ve got to do it week-in, week-out and show the manager why you deserve to get the call-up. It wasn’t until Gareth Southgate called me and I saw my name on that squad list that I knew it was official and I could believe it!”
We believe that Bowen will be will prove just how good he is when he puts on the England shirt in the upcoming international fixtures.
The 25-year-old West Ham ace has produced far superior numbers to all the other English right wingers this season.
It’s his time to shine.
And the reaction from Jarrod Bowen to the England squad announcement proves just how grounded he is as a human being. That will serve him really well and he continues to climb the footballing ladder.
