West Ham United would be crazy to ever sell Michail Antonio.
That’s according to ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell.
The 51-year-old former striker suggested that the Hammers star would take Arsenal to another level, when speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel.
He did suggest that West Ham would be crazy to sell the 31-year-old though:
“He could make a real difference (to Arsenal) but West Ham would never sell him. They would be crazy to sell him.”
Antonio has been sensational for West Ham so far this season.
The former Nottingham Forest man has bagged seven goals and four assists in 13 games in all competitions for the Hammers this term (Transfermarkt).
West Ham crazy to sell Michail Antonio
Campbell is spot on here.
The only nagging doubt about the 31-year-old West Ham ace was whether he would be able to avoid injuries this season.
He has answered that question emphatically up to now.
Micky has become one of the most important players at the London Stadium.
Without him we are a completely different team and it doesn’t bear thinking about what will happen if he does in fact pick up a hamstring injury.
Keeping Antonio fit will be vital to our chances of finishing inside the top four this season.
His contract expires in the summer of 2023 and he will surely be offered a new deal at some point in the near future.
Antonio has made a real name for himself over the past 18 months or so. It’s just a shame that he didn’t hold out a little while longer for an England call-up before committing to Jamaica!
