West Ham United legend Paolo Di Canio has absolutely slaughtered sacked Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho on his return to Italy.

Unreal statistic proves West Ham are a much better team when Benrahma starts

Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham two weeks ago just days before West Ham’s bitter rivals faced Man City in the League Cup final.

It brought an end to a tempestuous couple of years at the Spurs helm for Mourinho whose star has been fading fast in recent times.

Sacked Spurs boss Mourinho showed lack of class by dismissing West Ham

West Ham helped pile the pressure on the Portuguese with the famous 3-3 comeback draw at Tottenham earlier this season and a 2-1 victory over the north Londoners more recently.

Before West Ham and Tottenham met at the London Stadium at the end of February, arrogant Mourinho showed a lack of class.

With the world and its wife praising David Moyes and his side for a fantastic season, Mourinho dismissed the Hammers’s chances of Champions League football, suggested it would not last and predicted Spurs would end up finishing above their rivals come the end of the season.

Who’s laughing now Jose as Hammers legend Di Canio absolutely destroys new Roma boss in epic rant

Fast forward less than three months and Mourinho has been sacked while West Ham sit above Spurs and still in with a massive chance of making the top four with just four games to go.

Just two weeks after getting his P45 from Daniel Levy, Mourinho has accepted a surprise job offer from Roma to take over the flagging Serie A outfit next season.

And on his return to Italy, West Ham legend Di Canio – who is also a legend at Roma’s fierce rivals Lazio – has lambasted the former Spurs boss, calling him ‘the worst of the worst’.

According to Football Italia, the rant came in a phone message to a friend of his who is a Roma supporter. But it was released onto YouTube and spread rapidly.

‘He’s finished in every conceivable way’

“You’ve got the worst of the worst,” said Di Canio in the recording (Football Italia).

“I understand you needed a big name at this moment, but it’s like when you sign a player who is finished. Mourinho just wanted a job with money, he’s had his third sacking in four years, kicked out from everywhere due to the incompatibility of his character and before that’s all he was good at, having character.

“Now Tottenham gave him the boot for his results and incapacity to take the team to another level after two years with all the money they spent.

“Considering the environment around Roma, he’s fine, you might be expecting who knows what, but I tell you he’s the worst of the worst. He’s finished in every conceivable way.

“He doesn’t even play football, he plays anti-football. You might enjoy yourselves in a few press conferences, because controversy makes for good theatre, but let me tell you: to reconstruct a team, he’s the worst you could possibly get.

“And I can say that because he was my favourite up until seven years ago, even more than Pep Guardiola.”

No doubt Spurs fans would agree with Di Canio’s assessment.

We miss you Paolo. Never change.
