West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is still expected to sign a new contract with the club but there are one or two issues that need to be sorted out first.
That’s according to club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that there is a bigger likelihood of Rice signing a new deal than there is of him leaving the London Stadium in the summer.

Dec is currently contracted to West Ham until the summer of 2024. The Hammers have the option of extending that deal by a further 12 months though, so he essentially still has three years remaining on his current contract.
The 23-year-old has been absolutely sensational for the East London outfit this season. He is by far and away the most important player David Moyes has at his disposal at the London Stadium.

Rice is so highly rated at West Ham that the club have slapped a £150 million price-tag on his head according to the Daily Mail.
And it seems as though the Hammers are intent on protecting our prized asset even more…

Claret and Hugh reckons that the Hammers are prepared to offer Rice one of two deals.
Either £200k-a-week with no release clause or a £150k-a-week deal with a £100 million plus buy-out clause inserted.
It is suggested that the latter is the more likely out of the two.

Rice clearly wants the club to match his ambition so the onus will be on the owners to do that in the summer transfer window.
If David Moyes is backed to bring in the players he actually wants before the start of next season, then who knows…we might just be able to keep Dec for a few more years yet.
Winning the Europa League and subsequently qualifying for the Champions League will be vital to our hopes of doing just that as well.
As things stand, we believe that it is highly unlikely that Rice will leave this summer with Chelsea handcuffed by government sanctions, Manchester City putting all of their eggs in the Erling Haaland basket and Manchester United currently not an attractive proposition for any top player.
This next 12 months will be pivotal to out hopes of keeping Rice at the London Stadium and the 23-year-old putting pen to paper on a new deal would strengthen our position considerably.
