A Bola have reported that West Ham want to sign Porto right-back Jesus Corona this summer. But in truth, the Hammers don’t have a chance, with the Mexican’s agent having claimed that Chelsea have already made contact.

Portuguese media outlet A Bola claimed a couple of days ago that the 27-year-old could now be snapped up for just £25 million this summer – a £20 million drop from his previous release clause.
West Ham boss David Moyes will surely be keen to bring a new right-back to the London Stadium this summer.
And that same can be said of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
Corona would have been the perfect addition for the Hammers. But if the Porto ace has a choice between West Ham and Chelsea, there will surely be only one outcome.
The player’s agent Matias Bunge recently told Medio Tiempo:
“At some point we talked to Chelsea. I cannot say if he’s option A, B or C. We’ll have to wait a bit for this to continue moving forward and for the leagues to begin again, and from there see what the next movements will be.”
The Mexico international has been in sensational form for Porto this season. He has racked up four goals and an incredible 17 assists in 44 games for the Portuguese giants from right-back (Transfermarkt).
Corona is a former winger. So he excels in the attacking third. And the 27-year-old’s style of play seems to be ideally suited to the cut and thrust nature of the Premier League.
For just £25 million, the fleet-footed Mexican could be a real steal this summer.
Despite the financial impact caused from the global health crisis, that fee still represents excellent value, considering how much the Porto ace offers going forward.
But it seems as though West Ham could miss out on what would be a tremendous signing, if Chelsea are indeed keen on signing Corona.
