West Ham United fans think they have the next Declan Rice on their hands in the form of Conor Coventry.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been really impressing at youth level.
And the Hammers starlet has just earned a call-up to the Republic of Ireland international squad.
Coventry has racked up six goals in 14 games for West Ham’s developmental side so far this season (Transfermarkt).
And many Hammers fans are pleading with David Moyes to give the 20-year-old a chance at senior level.
The Scot is hardly blessed with central midfield options at the London Stadium.
Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice has forged a wonderful partnership in the middle of the park but we have little in reserve.
Mark Noble is well past his best.
Perhaps this is Coventry’s time to shine.
At 20, he must start playing regularly at senior level in order to fulfil his undoubted potential.
The young midfielder ha similar attributes to Declan Rice. He should certainly look up to the 22-year-old West Ham star. And the England international’s rapid rise to the top should give him real hope.
