The Hammers played some great stuff in the first-half. But City took control in the second-half. And the West Ham players really had to dig their heels in.
Coufal was a stand-out performer for David Moyes’s side today. The 28-year-old defender resolutely and chipped in with an assist in the first-half.
West Ham snapped the nine-capped Czech Republic international up for just £5 million earlier this month (The Guardian).
And he already looks like a real player. Coufal has Hammers cult hero written all over him.
The Czech ace is a much better defender than Ryan Fredericks. And he also makes really intelligent over-lapping runs.
If Coufal carries on playing the way he has done over the past three games, £5 million will be an absolute steal for his services.
The 28-year-old is a truly tenacious competitor. He made six tackles against City today, winning all six of them. The West Ham ace also made two clearances and won eight out of 11 individual duels (Football Critic).
