West Ham fans react to Jarrod Bowen’s display vs Bournemouth

Some West Ham fans praised Jarrod Bowen for his performance during today’s friendly against Bournemouth at the London Stadium.

The Hammers were incredibly slow out the blocks against the Cherries, and fell behind early on before the visitors doubles their lead after just 17 minutes.

The West Ham players seemed be have zero motivation. They were lacklustre in their play, and it must be said that Grady Diangana’s sale to West Brom has clearly affected some of the players.

The mood was clearly low at the London Stadium. And things weren’t much better on Twitter. West Ham fans raged as their team put in yet another tepid display.

David Moyes substituted Ben Johnson after just 25 minutes after a poor display from the youngster before Josh Cullen was brought on for the injured Manuel Lanzini.

The 24-year-old midfielder’s introduction added some much need impetus to West Ham’s play.

And it all changed round just before half-time. Jarrod Bowen scored two goals out of nothing to put his team right back in the contest.

Unfortunately for us, normal service resumed in the second-half as Bournemouth cantered to victory. But Bowen’s display drew plenty of praise nevertheless.

The 23-year-old attacker has been a breath of fresh air since arriving at the London Stadium from Hull City in January.

The left-footed ace’s work-rate is infectious and his final product really is excellent.

If we are to have any chance whatsoever of having a good season, Bowen will have to be at his very best over the next nine months.
