According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham boss David Moyes wants to bring Marseille ace Morgan Sanson to the London Stadium this summer. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

Moyes may still be on the look-out for further central midfield reinforcements this summer. Tomas Soucek arrived in east London on a permanent deal last month.

But with Mark Noble on the wrong side of 33, Carlos Sanchez having already left and Declan Rice continually being linked with an exit, the addition of another central midfielder might be a wise move from Moyes

The problem for the West Ham boss is that he has little money to spend this summer. And Sanson’s £25 million price-tag (Daily Mail) will obviously represent a huge problem for the east London outfit.

Stats

Sanson racked up five goals and five assists in 27 Ligue 1 outings for Marseille last season (Transfermarkt).

In those appearances, the Frenchman averaged 30.1 passes per game, with a very impressive completion rate of 85.9%. He also averaged 1.1 key passes per game (Who Scored).

In 27 league appearances, the 26-year-old averaged 2.2 tackles and 0.9 interceptions per game (Who Scored).

He is clearly a very, very good player. But it does seem to be unrealistic that we would be in for a player with his value and quality, given our current circumstances.
