West Ham fans jubilant as Roberto reportedly nears exit

Roberto’s horrendous West Ham spell looks set to be coming to an end, with the Guardian claiming that Real Valladolid have reached an agreement with the east London outfit to sign the goalkeeper. And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the news.

The Spaniard, who earns £30,000 per week (Spotrac) proved to be a real disaster signing for West Ham after he was brought to the London Stadium by Manuel Pellegrini in the summer of 2019.

The 34-year-old played 10 games for West Ham, and let in 21 goals, keeping only one clean sheet in the process (Transfermarkt).

Spaniard’s stay in the East End could be a short one

David Moyes swiftly moved Roberto on when he took charge of the Hammers for a second time.

The hapless goalkeeper linked up with Alaves on loan in January. He struggled to impress with the La Liga side either, letting in 19 goals in nine games (Transfermarkt).

Roberto clearly isn’t good enough to be playing Premier League football. So moving him on this summer is of paramount importance.

And the Guardian reckon that the 34-year-old Spaniard is on the verge of joining Real Valladolid for an undisclosed fee.
