ExWHUemployee has confirmed that West Ham are indeed trying to get rid of Jack Wilshere this summer. But they are not optimistic that anyone will take him due to his £100k-a-week wages.

The Times claimed yesterday that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to shift the 28-year-old midfielder.

Wilshere has really disappointed since joining West Ham on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 after his contract had expired with Arsenal.

The 34-capped England international, who earns £100,000 per week (The Times), has played just 18 games for the Hammers, racking up only one goal and one assist in the process (Transfermarkt).

His injury nightmares have continued in east London, and he has offered West Ham next to nothing on the pitch.

With Moyes in desperate need of raising funds this summer, getting Wilshere’s wages off the books before the start of next season would be a huge boost to the Scot’s chances of bringing some of his key targets to the London Stadium.

And ExWHUemployee claimed last night that that is exactly what the Hammers are hoping to do:

Not many West Ham fans would miss Wilshere if he leaves.

It is quite sad really, considering just how talented he was as a young player coming through the ranks at Arsenal.

But those days are long gone, and the Hammers need to get rid of the midfielder as soon as possible.
