West Ham fans hijack official Krisztian Hegyi Twitter announcement and demand new signings

Krisztian Hegyi has signed a new deal with West Ham and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.

The 19-year-old Hammers starlet is a hugely exciting young prospect and looks the part already in spite of his tender years.

Signing him up on a new three-year deal is undoubtedly great news for West Ham United.

The worry for the Hammers fans is that announcements like this are being made to distract us from the lack of signings in the January transfer window.

We are now 25 days into the January transfer window and as things stand, we appear to be nowhere near signing anybody.

David Moyes desperately needs to bring some new players into the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.

At the bare minimum, we need a proven striker and a top-class, left-footed centre-back.

West Ham have a genuine chance of qualifying for the Champions League this season. If Moyes fails to make any new signings though, we will have no chance of finishing inside the top six, let along the top four!

West Ham fans react on Twitter to Krisztian Hegyi

Nobody actually knows what the hold-up is regarding our failure to sign anyone.

Is it the board failing to back Moyes with the funds he needs? Or is the Scot himself taking too long to make a decision?

Whatever the reason is, something’s got to give.

In the meantime, the Hammers admin are trying their best to give us some good news. They posted a tweet yesterday afternoon sharing the news that Krisztian Hegyi has signed a new three-year deal with West Ham.

Given our current situation, however, the tweet ended up being like a red rag to a bull.

Some West Ham fans hijacked the post and demanded that the club make some new signings before the January transfer window closes…
