The Scot obviously knew exactly what Lingard would bring to the party.

And he has already established himself as a vital player at the London Stadium.

Let’s just hope that West Ham have the opportunity to sign J Lingz permanently in the summer. He really does bring so much to the table with his energy, quality in possession and constant drive and determination.

Moyes’s decision to bring Jesse to West Ham now seems like an absolute masterstroke.

He was on top form once again tonight against Sheffield United.

Lingard was a constant menace and was at the heart of everything good the Hammers did. He played a key role in the opening goal tonight. The 28-year-old started and finished the move that resulted in West Ham being awarded their first penalty since July.

He is already incredibly popular in East London. Let’s just hope that he’s here for the long-term.
