West Ham eyeing blockbuster £38 million summer transfer for 'sensational' striker

West Ham are allegedly ‘enchanted’ by the idea of signing Nice striker Amine Gouiri in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Calciomercato.it who claims that the Hammers face competition from the likes of AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle for the 22-year-old forward’s signature.

West Ham manager David Moyes tried desperately to bring a top-class forward to the London Stadium during the January transfer window.

The Scot was unsuccessful, however, and he is now left with Michail Antonio as his only option between now and the end of the season.

Moyes absolutely must address that issue in the summer. The addition of a top-class striker will be paramount to our hopes of kicking on a finishing inside the top four next season.

And it seems as though Moyesie has a plan up his sleeve…

West Ham eyeing £38 million summer transfer window swoop for French striker

The 22-year-old Nice hitman is firmly on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the summer window according to a report from Calciomercato.it.

In fact, West Ham are said to be ‘bewitched’ by the idea of signing the fleet-footed forward.

According to One Football, he could be available for around €45 million (£38 million) in the summer.

Get French Football News recently described Gouiri as a ‘sensational’ striker.

The 22-year-old striker has been in fine form for Nice this season, bagging 10 goals and seven assists in 25 Ligue 1 outings (Transfermarkt).

Gouiri has pace in abundance and is a constant menace for opposing defenders.

He does have a slight frame, however. And that might be somewhat of a concern for the powers that be at the London Stadium, given the physical nature of Premier League football.

The thing is, any big money signing is a risk nowadays, especially if you’re bringing someone in from a foreign league. There are never any guarantees that a new arrival will succeed, regardless of what fee you pay for them.

The bottom line is that Moyes needs to take a risk at some point. West Ham desperately need a top-class striker.

Nice ace Gouiri seems to possess all of the attributes needed to succeed with the Hammers in the Premier League.

And if it takes £38 million to bring him to East London, then so be it. The 22-year-old could go on to become a real star in England.
